My experiences living on a fixed income.  Calling all seniors.

OK so here I am retired on min pension.  Old alone and poor, so what can I do about it. I want to have a good quality of life have fun, laugh, sing, travel.  So how am I going to have this happen.  I have a fixed income what I need to do is make it go further, have it cover more things, maybe take from Peter to pay Paul.
I made a budget exactly what are my expenses, how much money do I need.  It turns out I have more expenses than I have money.  So what now, my life style is very simple.  I want to do more I want to take classes, sing karaoke, buy paint supplies, go out and do fun things once in awhile.  I need more money, there is very little chance that I can create an income so I need to cut back on expenses.  Rent is fixed, phone fixed, cable fixed, hydro fixed, debt I can cut back a little, cloths.  I started going to Value Village I found some nice things for a fraction of the price and I can buy some items for the house as well, oh joy. Oh I found out that I can get a yearly bus pass for a pittance.   OK food what can I do in this category.  I can eat less, on the internet I read that 3oz of meat or fish is enough per day. 3 oz would fit in the palm of your hand. Ok I can do that with beef and fish but when it comes to chicken, I like bbq and I can eat 1/4 chicken so I need to cut back here. Eat more fruits and veggies in season, oatmeal. Cut out expensive items life cheese, boxed items fast food items.  Ok no cheese of any kind, cheese is like chocolate to me, oh dear.  No bread, no cookies, no cake, no pop, no juice, no bacon, no caramel salt covered almonds, yikes. No granola, oh no. No pre made sandwiches, no hot chocolate.  OK need to make a list of what I can eat.
